Some people think that school years are the happiest in their life. As for me, I cannot say whether it is right or wrong. I am still too young. I am 14 years old, and it is difficult for me to say whether my future will be more happy than my past. Moreover, school takes so much time that I hardly have time for anything else. I have classes in the first half of the day and in the evening I have to do my homework,
which takes me several hours. Sometimes I have to sit up to write a composition, prepare a report, or learn a poem. Autumn and spring holidays are very short. In winter I have only two weeks free of school. Summer is the only time when I can forget about school. But it is impossible to do so. Little by little I start to understand that school plays a very important part in the life of every person, and knowledge gained at school is the key to the future success or failure.
School years may certainly be fairly happy. However, there are a lot of problems even today connected with school life and the formation of a personality. People think differently about this time of their life experience. In my opinion optimism or pessimism in the attitude to school years is equally wrong. School is the place where almost everything happens with a person for the first time. School years are the time of great expectations and great emotions. Not all emotions are always pleasant. School is the first true experience of the real life. At school a person makes his first friends, meets his first love, and confronts the first betrayal. Here at school the person reads the first book and writes the first composition. He acquires basic knowledge of physics, mathematics, literature, history, biology, etc. But here at school the person not only accumulates knowledge, school helps the pupils to get on in life and become successful.
In a way it is a kind of society in miniature. School society is a model of real society with its advantages and disadvantages. School lessons are not given by* teachers only. The harsh reality of everyday school life teaches pupils a lot of lessons which will be useful in their later life.
My plans are to develop my abilities, satisfy my curiosity, and realise myself as an individual, to establish for myself a set of convictions and beliefs, to acquire knowledge that will enables me to continue m education before I start working.

My school is (not) very new and modem and (but) it is very conformable and all the pupils like it very much, it is really home for everyone, who studies there. It has three (four, five, two) floors. The classrooms are light and high. There are classrooms for practically all the subjects — English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Literature, etc. There is a computer class in our school, where pupils study computing, one of the most important subjects nowadays. Our school has a gymnasium and a sports ground. Many pupils are fond of sport and they have a good opportunity to go in for different sports there.
Our school has got a library. It is on the ground floor. There are a lot of interesting new and old books in it. But our library has no reading-room.
There is a school hall in our school, too. Meetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place there. We organize concerts, parties and we celebrate our holidays. Pupils of our school sing songs and dance modern and folk dances and perform some plays there. The last bell is organized at our school in a proper way. It is a very remarkable day in the life of all the pupils. The pupils of the first form and the pupils of the eleventh one are preparing for this day with great pleasure. The teachers’ room is on the second floor. There are tables and chairs for teachers, a TV set and a telephone there. It is a comfortable and cosy room and the teachers like to spend their free time in it. My favourite subjects are Russian and English. I also like literature. I am good at these subjects and usually get good marks in them. I work hard at English lessons: read and translate texts, make up dialogues, do a lot of exercises, but best of all I like different tests, I am fond of grammar. But I am poor at chemistry. I always fail to learn formulas and terms properly. I like my class, everybody is so friendly easy to get along with. I am on good terms with my class mates and we often spend our free time together.
I think that the most important role of school is giving knowledge. I can say that my school gives such knowledge, and that's why I’m happy at school. Most of my teachers have a lot of teaching experience; they understand very well the difficulties of the learning process. They help us to learn all subjects well. They also guide us and advise us on all aspects of our study and life. They share their knowledge and experience with us, and we respond with love.
School is not only a place of education; it is a place where we develop our relationships, increasing tolerance and respect to each other. At school we can enjoy different activities and demonstrate our individual talents.
I like my school very much because I have spent the best years of my short life there. But in spite of it I dislike the whole system of education.
You see, it is almost impossible to enter a University without helping of the tutors because the knowledge we get at school is not enough for it.
What concerns my school the pupils are not free in their choice of the subjects. And they are forced to study the subjects they are not interested in and it takes them too much time to learn the subjects unnecessary for their future life. They could spend this time working on the subjects which will be needed for their future profession. I think too many pupils study in every class. Most of them sit far from the blackboard. And sometimes they can’t see what is written on it. It causes diseases connected with eyesight. Besides, our teachers can’t pay attention to everybody at their lessons. It would be better to have from 10 to 15 pupils in the each class.
In spite of all these difficulties I like my school and I will always look back at my school years as the happiest in my life.
